RCA Home Theater Systems – YouTube – TVs & DVD Players : How to Connect a DVD Recorder to a TV

March 10th, 2010

What do you do with all the movies you download to your PC, spend a couple days burning them to a DVD or VCD, which can take a lot of time and might not work. You have your Computer set up for home theater great sound system. Expensive speakers outstanding graphics you can see every little detail on your whopping 17 inch monitor, for a computer monitor that is a good size. Hooking up your PC to your TV to really enjoy your movies and maybe for more then one person to enjoy. Why not connect your PC to your TV.

I am going to tell you how you can hook up your PC to Your TV so you can watch your movies on your TV.

The first step is to look at the back of your computer and see what kind of video card you have (you will need a video card no more then a 100 bucks at your computer store) most new computers have a video card. On the back of your computer there are three basic connectors you are looking for 1st one is the RCA composite, 2nd SVIDEO, and Third VGA, connectors if you have one of the 1st two you have a video card.

Newer computers most probably will have one of these type of connectors.

RCA are the1-3 male plug ins, might only be 2 on the back of your computer, yellow, video, red or white or both audio.

The most common cables for hooking up your DVD player to your TV.

SVIDEO is superior to the RCA cables it will offer you better graphics and sound (note: you can still use the audio off your computer if you want to)

The VGA is what you hook up your monitor with you will need to have a HDTV to be able to use this one, if you do have a HDTV this is the best way to hook up your PC. if that is all you have you will need to get a video card, there is an adapter but it is not recommended, costs more then a new video card

If you are wondering that’s it. There’s got to be more there is, as with anything you do with your computer it depends on your video graphics. You might have to tweak the settings but that’s about it if your computer already has video out it is basically set up. Now you are ready to watch your movies you have downloaded. You can store them on your HarDrive and watch them whenever you want. So instead of trying to hook up your TV to your PC hook up your PC to your TV. Are movies you downloaded the only thing you can watch NO. Go to my blog and learn how you can get free satellite TV on your PC.

Car audio amplifier is a tool that plays music inside a car. This amplifier is not a built in tool. That means you will not get it while buying a car. You have to buy it separately and have to install it in your car. Installing this has some specific procedures. Here you will some basic instructions about how to install a car audio amplifier.

First, you have to disconnect the terminals. This is not mandatory but this is just for safety reason. Now, you have to run the power cable to the amplifier from the battery. You have to find a ground point. It has to be closer to the amplifier. Make sure that the point is attached to the frame of the vehicle. The connection also has to be solid.

Run your power cable to the amplifier just as you have done with the power cable. If your ground point has any color, then remove it. Use a sandpaper to do this job. You can use it also to remove any rust. The connection will not be solid if the metal is not shiny. If you want to attach a ring terminal with the ground point, then this is the right time to do that. After this you have to wrap up the ground point with something that is non conducting. Then use some spray paint or any kind of finish that will protect the ground point from rust.

Do not forget to turn on the remote and to run the RCA cables. You have to pull out the head unit out of the mounting location. Fasten the remote turn on wire with the wiring harness of the head unit. Now, decide which amplifier will contain which RCA cable. Keep the RCA cables away from any type of power cables. Keep them away especially from the amps power cable.

Now, let all the wires of the speakers run. Fasten the wires with the amplifier. After this turn the remote on and add the power to the ground. Attach the fuse holder. Always attach it near the battery. If your battery terminals are very sophisticated, then do not forget to give proper protection and connect them in the right way. Attach the other cables with the battery. It will be better if you can get your battery terminals a brand new cover.

Before turning on the amplifier, check it properly. Turn the gain of the amplifier down. After that turn your system on and listen carefully. Check whether everything is working properly or not. Listen to the sound carefully. Think whether you can hear any noise or not, and verify how much noise you can hear. Verify whether there is any distortion exists that is audible. If everything is completely all right, then move on to the next step.

Your next step is to think how you will give power to the amp, where your amp will stay, etc. With that your amplifier will be fixed perfectly. If you follow all these steps then you will be able to install your amplifier safely and properly.

Home IP networks are increasingly equipped with network drives. The Network Attached Storage (NAS) is used to create data libraries as well as backup storage. More and more space in the store is taken by multimedia files – photos, movies, music – so it is logical to connect the network to the stereo, HD television, home theater projector.

There is available home equipment with LAN ports, among other things televisions that can cooperate with other devices compliant with DLNA (The Digital Living Network Alliance) certificate. The standard developed by this international body is being implemented in televisions, digital video recorders (DVRs), cellular phones, NAS drives, stereos, home theaters, PCs, laptops, netbooks, palmtops, network printers.

Connecting the TV set to the home network, the user gets access to the media in the home archive or stored e.g. on his/ her mobile phone. For example, selected photos from the mobile phone can be printed during watching them on TV.

If the devices use different standards, it may cause problems. On the Internet the users can find lists of compatible software, operating systems and types of multimedia, as well as appropriate transcoders.

To avoid such problems, simpler solutions are based on hard drives equipped with USB ports (for recording the files) and HDMI, RCA or optical outputs for connection to a home theater.

An integrated concept of home multimedia system was shown at CeBIT 2009 by NETGEAR Inc.

The solution combines in one network with Internet access a number of devices:

* desktop and mobile computers with wired and wireless cards

* NAS drives

* wireless USB print server

* WiFi SKYPE phones

* powerline Ethernet adapters

* multimedia players (digital entertainers)

The core of the home system is one or more multimedia players. They provide access to the multimedia from the archive, home LAN or the Internet. The signals from the players are available in AV, Component Video, Cinch, S/PDIF (coaxial/optical), S-Video, HDMI connectors. The “digital entertainers” are equipped with both wired and wireless Ethernet interfaces.

For transmitting HD video, the company recommends wired links. The reason is that wireless networks (aside from IEEE802.11n draft 2.0) are not suitable for such transmissions. Typical HD movie requires effective (and stable) throughput at a level of about 20 Mbps (it is close to the practical limits of the devices using IEEE802.11a or EEE802.11g standards).
